Instructions for installing FxPlug
System Requirements:
- Final Cut Pro 5.1 or Motion 2 (tested with FCP 5.1.4 and Motion 2.1.2)
- A computer that will run FCP or Motion 2
Personal Requirements:
- A sense of adventure
- Some understanding of motion graphics
- A tasty beverage to keep you hydrated
- A snow shovel, if you're in Green Bay Wisconsin
- A sense of humor (which you must have if you're reading this)
Installation steps:
- Request your copy of the lastest VKey2 FxPlug from
orders@oakstreetsoftware.com
- Wait patiently for your new plug-in to arrive in your e-mail
- Unzip the package when it arrives
- Move the "VKey2_fxplug.fxplug" bundle (probably looks like a folder)
into your Library/Plug-ins/FxPlug folder.
To do this, locate your home folder, locate the Library folder in your home
folder, locate the Plug-ins folder in the Library folder in your home folder,
create an FxPlug folder in the Plug-ins folder if there is no FxPlug folder
there already, and place the VKey2_fxplug.fxplug bundle into the FxPlug
folder.
- If you have Final Cut Pro or Motion open, close them and re-open which ever
one you intend to work with.
- In FCP, you should find an "Oak Street" folder in your video effects menu.
- In Motion, you should find an "Oak Street" folder in your video effects menu.
- In the "Oak Street" folder, you should find a VKey2 plug-in.
- Add the plug-in as an effect, just like any other effect and enjoy
Note: You may notice that the "interlaced" switch is missing from the FxPlug
plug-in. That is because the plug-in can determine, programmatically, if there are
fields in your video, and if the host has given it a frame with 2 fields, a progressive
frame, or a single field, for rendering. i.e. It's automatic.
